HOW TO CARE FOR

GOLD FILLED

14k gold filled jewellery is a long lasting, economical way to enjoy the luster of solid gold without the big price tag. Usually considered a lifetime piece of jewellery, it is not to be confused with gold plated as it will not flake or rub off, change colour or tarnish (with reasonable care) and contains 100 times more gold. It is also safer to wear for most people with sensitive skin. To maintain the luster of your gold filled jewellery, avoid contact with water and perfume and polish with a gold or silver polish cloth.

HOW TO CARE FOR

STERLING SILVER

All Bethan Joy London sterling silver jewellery is made from 925 sterling silver. Over time sterling silver can tarnish when being exposed for a long period of time but all you need to do to get it back looking as it once did is rub it gently with a polishing cloth.

HOW TO CARE FOR

VERMEIL

Vermeil jewellery has a 24ct layer of gold layered onto a sterling silver base. As the layer is not heat impressed onto the finished piece after time the finish can eventually wear off. To avoid this we recommend to remove your jewellery when in contact with water and to put on your jewellery once you have finished getting ready to avoid contact with perfume.

HOW TO CARE FOR

PlATED PEWTER METAL

A thick layer of gold plating embossed on top of the pewter metal. The gold plating on the pewter metal will eventually wear off, depending on how it is cared for (please see our care suggestions below) and how often worn by the individual the gold plating can last up to a year or more. To keep your jewellery looking the best it can with the gold plating lasting for as long as possible, please avoid showering, cosmetics and perfumes when wearing the jewellery. Also avoid wearing gold plated items in bed; bedsheets rubbing against them can wear down the surface.
